Since he started Formula Palmer Audi in 1999, as a new-comer to race driving,
Chris has established himself as a formidable opponent on the track.
With 8 successful years in the FPA series, Chris has amassed hundreds of points
and countless podiums. In his final season last year, he achieved his best result
yet
with an impressive 3rd place in the overall championship.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Chris looked forward to the next challenge.
And found it in the FIA GT3 Series.
This move is a huge step forward. A completely different type of car, style of driving, new tracks to learn, not to mention the fact that this is a truly international series under the jurisdiction of the FIA. It is widely considered as the ultimate series for non-professional race drivers.
After just 2 races in the series, Chris demonstrated his potential and showed his true calibre, by finishing 9th overall in the 2nd race of the year at Bucharest, against 40 other drivers and amid atrocious weather conditions that would challenge even the best of drivers. Its clear that Chris’ competitive drive is as strong as ever, and without a doubt his time in the series should prove to be an exciting journey for fans to be apart of.
Of course Chris is not only known as a race driver – he has a demanding career as Chief Executive Officer for Serco Group Plc. He is also Non-executive Director of United Business Media Plc, the Prince of Wales charity in Kind Direct, a member of the UK Government’s Honours Advisory Committee for Economy, Ambassador to Business in the Community – another of the Prince’s Trust Charities, Non-executive Director of United Business Media PLC and Africa Foundation in the UK.
Chris was born in Durban, South Africa and lives in the UK with his wife Lianne and their two children, Courtney Jade and Aaron Zechariah.
